Story collection
What if I do not know how to write?
This project is about a process, nobody has become a writer in one day.
Start with telling stories. Perhaps, not all of them will become included in the book. But start writing them down. It must not be a great story. Just think about common things. Common things for you, are not necessarily common for others. Others might find them very interesting.
A story about you
The most beautiful stories are written by life itself, and you are the expert in it.
Think about...
- things you tell to your friends in a quiet moment;
- how you would describe your place, where you live;
- in what type of housing you life
- things you like to do;
- animals and plants that you like - or dislike;
- food you love - or hate, and still should eat;
- how you get dressed and why;
- whom you live with, who belongs to your community - and who not;
- if you stay always in the same place, or go somewhere else;
- how you get from one place to the other;
- what activities you enjoy (music, sports, dances, games, etc.)
- how you contribute to your community's daily life;
- things you hope for or you fear.
Now you have all the elements for a good story. The people who live with you, the animals and plants or other living beings can be characters in your story.
Things you hope for or you fear can be the challenge in your story.
Activities and places can build the setting where your story develops.
Retell a story
Another way to write a story is to retell an existing story, a traditional account, a song or some myth.
Narrating events
Certainly, there are interesting things that happen in your life or something you'd like to explain.
Tell us about ...
- something you have seen
- something you have experienced
- something you can explain
- a festivity, a birthday or similar
Poetry and songs
No every book is about stories. If the storytelling things is not so much your taste, why don't you write a song or a poem?
It must not be difficult. And it must not rhyme. You may want to start with a Quintain.
But if you like rhymes, try a Limerick.
